From News Center (Text and Photos by Mo Qiaoliang, School of Electronic Information Engineering) On December 7, 2025, the national finals of the 2025 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation—AI Large Model Industry Development and Application event successfully concluded in Wenchang, Hainan. Students from LZPU's School of Electronic Information Engineering competed against 70 teams from higher vocational schools and junior colleges nationwide, and, with their strong professional skills and excellent teamwork, ultimately won the national first prize. At the same time, LZPU received the "Best Organization Award", while teachers Mo Qiaoliang and Zhao Quanyou were named "Outstanding Instructors".

The competition consisted of two sections: one on the fundamentals and skills of AI large models, and another on industry development and applied practice. It closely integrates AI large model technologies with industry needs for intelligent transformation, focusing on tasks such as model deployment, prompt engineering, knowledge base construction, model fine-tuning, and intelligent agent development. Participants were comprehensively assessed on core skills, including deep learning environment setup, semantic guidance design, data vectorization, and system integration optimization. The competition also incorporated elements of professional ethics, safety standards, and international cooperation. It emphasized using low-code platforms and development tools to achieve efficient model inference, risk management, and performance enhancement in real-world scenarios,  and on promoting the construction of AI majors and the model innovation of highly skilled talent development by linking learning with competition and integrating industry with education. During the competition, the participants remained calm and composed, worked in coordination, and demonstrated solid technical expertise and innovative adaptability in a complex practical setting.

Through their participation in this competition, teachers and students from LZPU not only showcased exceptional technical proficiency in core tasks such as model deployment, prompt engineering, knowledge base construction, and intelligent agent development, but also displayed a professional spirit marked by rigor, discipline, and collaborative innovation. We will leverage this high-level competition to further advance the practical application of AI and large model technologies in teaching, further promote the optimization of major courses, enhance the practical training system, and support the high-quality development of highly skilled talent, thus injecting fresh momentum into the industry's intelligent transformation.
